Hello!
I am an Assistant Professor of Management at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. Before that I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Dispute Resolution Research Center at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. I received my PhD from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, my MPA from the Wagner School of Public Service at NYU, and my BA in Anthropology from Ithaca College. Prior to academia, I spent several years managing interdisciplinary projects in the healthcare industry.
My Work
My research draws on the disciplines of management and social psychology to investigate the intersection of collaboration, motivation, and interpersonal perceptions within and across teams. I use a wide range of methodological approaches in my research, and have conducted field studies (both qualitative and survey-based) as well as laboratory experiments. I also utilize multiple analytical techniques, from quantitative analyses such as regression, ANOVA, multilevel modeling, and social network analysis to inductive, qualitative analyses. My work aims to improve our understanding of complex collaborative processes in contexts such as healthcare, entrepreneurship, multinational corporations, and non-profits, and has been published in Organization Science, Research in Organizational Behavior, Organization Studies, Group Dynamics: Theory, Research, and Practice, Frontiers in Psychology, Management Teaching Review, and Harvard Business Review.
At SCU, I teach Management of Organizations (MGMT 160) and Flourishing at Work (MGMT 175) in the Undergraduate program and Leading People in Organizations (MGMT 3000) in the Evening and Online MBA programs. In 2022, I had the honor of being recognized as one of Poets & Quants 50 Best Undergraduate Business Professors and also received the ACE Outstanding Faculty Award at SCU - an award selected by students.
